Questions about PDF to Markdown (PDF2MD)? Every email goes to a human, and we read all of them.
You can convert any PDF, but each document is limited to its first 3 pages, history keeps your 5 most recent conversions, and batch import is limited to 5 files at a time. PDF2MD Pro (a one-time purchase) removes all three limits and unlocks Apple Shortcuts. Your original PDF is always saved in full, even on the free tier — only the converted range is limited.
Open PDF2MD, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase. You can also restore from the Pro unlock screen.
All PDF2MD purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled directly through Apple’s App Store. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find your PDF2MD transaction, and request a refund.
Yes. All PDF parsing, OCR, and Markdown generation happen entirely on your device — PDF2MD makes no network calls to convert your documents. The only network activity is via Apple’s StoreKit when you buy or restore PDF2MD Pro, which Apple handles directly.
None. PDF2MD contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers, and your documents are never uploaded anywhere. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Yes. Scanned pages are recognized using Apple’s on-device Vision framework for OCR — page images are never sent anywhere for processing.
Yes, alongside headings, paragraphs, and body text. Tables are converted to Markdown tables, mathematical formulas to LaTeX, and figures are exported as image files referenced from the Markdown. Conversion quality depends on the source document’s layout, especially for complex tables or dense equations.
Every conversion is kept in your in-app history until you delete it. From there you can export via the share sheet, save to the Files app, copy to the clipboard, or write directly into a folder you choose (including an Obsidian-style vault).
